Community
In addition to providing our client with the resources and tools required to grow and develop, we also actively engage with areas of the community when opportunities arise.
Women’s International Group

The Women’s International Group (WIG) is a voluntary organisation based in Vientiane, that not only provides social support and education on local culture to expatriates and their families relocated and living in Laos but whose aim it is to assist Lao people through WIG Welfare Projects. These projects cover two main areas: education and medical.
The medical projects enable patients to receive surgical treatment at hospitals in Laos by providing financial support and non-medical provisions. Along with providing volunteer staff to assist visiting surgical teams from abroad and hospital staff, WIG also assist in providing each patient on the surgical programs with a nutritious daily food allowance, simple amenities like toiletries or donated items like clothing, blankets, or colouring books and pencils for children. Once a patient is ready for discharge, WIG cover the transportation costs of the patient and their carer to their nearest local provincial bus stop ensuring their safe return home and easing some of the financial burden for the individuals and their families.
WIG also work closely with the government schools in Vientiane Municipality, facility projects to improve and provide infrastructure in the schools. Using donated funds, they assess the received proposals and allocate not only budget but also time and energy into these projects, monitoring everything from the first foundation dug to the last brushstroke painted to ensure the benefits are achieved for the local school children.
While working on an engagement at a mining operation in Laos, Minh Hoang and Tom Geling (Orgment Directors) met the Chairman of WIG who introduced them to the program of work that WIG were doing within the local community. Motivated by the efforts of WIG, hearing of the desperate need and seeing the benefits to the local people, Orgment Consulting pledge their help, participating in local fundraising activities to support WIG during their time there. HBF – Run for a Reason

While back in Perth on break during Orgment’s engagement in Laos, Minh Hoang (Orgment Director) was inspired to further contribute to WIG’s work by participating in the HBF – Run for a Reason charity fun run. Raising over $10,000 for this cause, Minh returned to Laos and the donation was handed over to WIG who put it towards the sponsorship of Australian & New Zealand plastic surgeons that had travelled to Mahosot Hospital in Vientiane, to treat children suffering burns. Due to the common use of open fires within the family environment for cooking and heating purposes, Laos experiences a very high level of burn incidents in the child population. Minh Hoang and Tom Geling (Orgment Directors) were invited by WIG to visit the Mahosot hospital and met with surgeons volunteering as part of the surgical programs and see how the donation was helping the children and their families.

Classroom of Hope
The Classroom of Hope has been created in an effort to offer financial and technical assistance through funding and partnerships with best practice NGOs to create child-friendly schools in the developing world.
By providing a child with education, this gives them the tools to change their lives, unleash their potential and an opportunity to give back to their communities and improve the livelihoods of future generations. The Classroom of Hope has provided such support to over 5,000 children in 15 schools during it’s first year and is aiming to reach a target of 22 schools by the end of 2013.
Orgment Consulting has been contributing to The Classroom of Hope by providing ongoing pro-bono consulting services assisting with the development of their operating model and organisational design.

Testimonial comment:
“We are extremely grateful for the pro-bono consulting services that Orgment has provided to Classroom of Hope. The journey of developing our operating model and organisational design has been a lot of fun with effective input, advice and support from Orgment. This work will see Classroom of Hope scale into a best practice non-profit digital organisation that will deliver fun online campaigns through digital engagement to raise funds so that underprivileged children in the developing world can gain access to the life changing gift of education through our child-friendly schools.”

HBF – Rottnest Channel Swim 2014
Our congratulations go to Warren Salamone (one of our Directors) on successfully completing the 19.7km 2014 HBF Rottnest Channel Swim. Warren, backed by an awesome support crew, made it safely across to Rottnest in 6 hours, 15 mins. With more of Perth’s fantastic weather helping Warren’s cause, everything came together on the day just nicely, stingers aside! Congratulations Warren on an awesome effort!!
Warren extends his thanks to everyone who supported him with words of encouragement and/or by donating to the Classroom of Hope and Warren is extremely proud to advise that more than $2,000 was raised. This is a fantastic result and one which Warren says “is much more important than that of completing the crossing given it will make a significant difference to the lives of underprivileged children in Cambodia”.
Once again, congratulations Warren!
For those who have not donated and would like to support Classroom of Hope, the donations page will remain open until 15 March 2014 go to:
